Committee Assignment

In my committee my project is about skateboarding and I have figured out when they started skating on flat ground. Here is another question that I came up with, why do surfers want to surf on flat ground? What were skate boards first called? Why did they want to surf on flat land? When were skateboards invented? I enjoyed doing this assignment, because I already knew a lot about it.
